I’ve heard of “business” women who always wear their hair in sleek bobs. I have a lead in a musical at my school, and I’m supposed to be a lawyer, so I figured that I need to find out how to get my hair into a “sleek bob” My hair is medium length, side bangs and short layers. Please give step-by-step instructions for how to put hair into those kinds of buns, thanks!

A sleek bob is very different from a sleek bun. The first is a cut and the second a style.

If its just for the performance then I would go with the bun.
As you have side bangs and layers you will need to use products and kirby grips (sometimes called bobby pins)

Because (i presume) you will be on stage, you will be able to get away with using plenty of gel, basically the most professional looking bun will be scraped back, from a side or middle parting, applying the gel and combing back and securing with a hair band/bobble. You can use kirby grips that come coloured the same as your hair to secure any bits that are too short.

The second part is to take pieces of hair from the pony-tail part and fold them outwards away from the bobble part, then securing the ends underneath with a kirby grip so that you dont see them, gradually work your way round until you have used all the hair up but be careful not to leave any gaps. This way looks very professional and MUCH better than just twisting a ponytail round itself (you end up with the little bits sticking out doing this)

Remember, plenty of hairspray when the style is finished (always use a professional one as they have a better spray on them and will not ‘damp’ the hairstyle and pull it down)
