Discover the Resources Especially Created for a Woman Entrepreneur

Did you know there is a whole list of resources specifically created for women who want to start their own business? This means there is available help for anyone wanting to open a bakery, clothing store, or even a veterinarian office. Resources can be things such as mentors, women’s business organizations, loans, and grants. These have all been created to help a woman entrepreneur become successful in a sometimes difficult business world.

This means you need to have all of your business plans nailed down, especially before looking for financial help. The loan officer at the bank will want to know how money will be made, materials purchased, and how advertising will take place. They want you to succeed, but at the same time, they won’t loan money to just anyone – male or female.

At the beginning, if you are struggling to get your business off the ground, look for a business mentor who can go over your notes. They can tweak parts and provide suggestions, especially since they have already been in your place. Another suggestion is to apply for loans and grants especially designed to help a woman entrepreneur succeed in the business world.

There are several places where you can apply for loans and grants. One is the Small Business Association, as they often provide help to any business that has considerable potential. This means going through their list of funding opportunities and applying for the appropriate loans. There are also federal grants, specifically created to help a minority-owned company, which includes women. There are also women grants available.

Other options available for a woman entrepreneur is funding through private sector grants and loans or women’s business organizations. Make sure to research which opportunities fit your need the most. Then start making your dreams come true.

I want to start a business

According to the National Foundation of Women Business Owners, women-owned businesses have grown significantly over the past 7 years.  As of 1999, it’s estimated that one-third of all US small businesses are owned by women.  Now, more than ever women have access to the tools and support to be a success in today’s “Corporate America”.  Why not you?

There are 10 traits of a successful entrepreneur…those are:

1. Desire to achieve and succeed.

2. Perseverance and persistence.

3. Self-Confidence.

4. Creative problem-solving skills.

5. Self-motivation.

6. Goal setting and self-discipline.

7. Respect for money.

8. Persuasiveness.

9. Knowledge of your market.

10. Customer service oriented.

Women are great entrepreneurs.   Why is this?  Women tend to focus on the business relationship and in return that leads to customer loyalty and recurring sales.  So why do you want to own your own business?

Here are five questions I want  you to ask yourself:

What interests, talents or skills can I bring to my new business?
Am I a self-starter?
Do I enjoy challenges?
Am I a creative problem solver?
What are my strengths and weakness’s?

]]>

of all business owners do not make it.  Most people understand that running a business take some know-how.  Most successful business owners posses additional skills and interests.   The passion drives them to move ahead.  Before starting a business think about what is driving you to this decision.  What is the reason behind starting your own business?  Maybe you want more $ $ , the flexibility to be with your family or you want to be boss lady.  Whatever your reasons are, making a change in your life can be exciting or it can be exhausting.  This is supposed to be a exciting experience a new journey in your life.  Eliminate the guess work.

It does not have to be exhausting…:  make a list of all the reactive reasons (push you away) and the active reasons.  Reactive (pull you in) reasons are the negative and that are objectionable about working for others.  Active reasons are the positive about having your own business.  It is the “Push and Pull” response.  Ask yourself these questions….what drives you?….what are you passionate about?….what other options are there?

There are so many reasons to start and grow your very own business.  The most that I have heard over the years of coaching are:

The pure reason of feeling free
Helping others
Leaving a legacy
The feeling of being wanted and needed
Contributing to your family income
Personal financial gain
Fame and recognition
Chance of ownership

I am sure if you sat down with a pen and a notebook and over the next few day wright a little and think a little.  You will find LOADS of reasons.  There are many reasons and they are quite powerful reasons.  Starting a new company is a great challenge. To those with entrepreneurial instincts, it is very appealing.

STRUCTURING YOUR LIFE THE WAY YOU WANT IT

Article by Gayle Carson

I recently came back from speaking to a group of 50 plus women And I was amazed how many were still fighting the “glass ceiling” syndrome–at least in their own minds. I can’t comment on the truth of their opinions because I never worked in Corporate America nor did I want to.

I knew from the very beginning that I would not make a good employee and always wanted my own business. Even as a kid, I decided what I wanted experience in, went to the place that supplied it, structured an assignment and pay frame, and did it for a summer or several weeks to get that experience.

However, what I heard from these women was the frustration of not having their life the way they wanted it. And even more amazing to me was the fact that it never entered their mind to go into business for themselves.

I must admit that I worked my “butt” off to get where I am, and luckily had the husband and family that allowed me to do exactly that because of their cooperation. I know today I would do it much differently.

I admire and respect the women who have gone into business to control their lives, spend time with their family and structure their work world around their lifestyle. Fortunately, in this day and age of virtual assistants, internet programs and the fact that you don’t necessarily need a total brick and mortar business, that is possible.

So I would definitely look at the re-structuring of the second part of your life. I would make it exactly the way you want it-living where you want, how you want and with whom you want. I would also acquire the skills necessary to have the business you want if that’s want inspires you. Most probably, you have more abilities than you are giving yourself credit for.

I have the opportunity to interview many fabulous women for my radio show “Women in Business.” I am flabbergasted at the variety of things they do, how successful they are and the passion with which they speak. I am envious that I’m not starting all over again because there are so many more opportunities today.

I guess that’s why I have started so many new things since turning 60. One of them is becoming Internet savvy. I never got on a computer until then, and now there isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not on it for my businesses. Is it my favorite thing-no! Is it one key to success-yes!

So I say to all your Spunky Old Broads out there.-don’t ever think it’s too late. As long as you’re breathing, you can do it. And the older you get, the more you know.

The MWBE certification proves that we are continuing to evolve in exciting ways.”

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo outlined goals for MWBE’s in his State of the State Address Jan. 5, 2011:
“Of the 1.9 million business entities operating in New York State, more than 50 percent are owned by women or minorities. The vast majority of these companies are small businesses and a critical driver of the New York State economy. To ensure that MWBE’s have the opportunity to earn their fair share of the State’s business, Governor Cuomo directed State agencies to double the current MWBE participation goal from 10 to 20 percent and ease bonding restrictions that they will face and expand the Owner-Controlled Insurance Program model to expand opportunities for small businesses.”

Impulse! Be Business The driving force, less impulsive, that is, the lack of takes the plunge, paid off, and power. However, the driving force in the impulse, the venture is to succeed, or to step by step, in accordance with certain procedures and steady can improve the chances of success.

Of course, apart many of the pioneering business management consultant, you can spend some consultants consult, but if you do not want to spend the money, you can choose some free advice agencies, such as associations and government agencies, greater use of these resources for free consultation.

Second, writing the book business planningPlanning to write the book, in terms of the entire business process is not only necessary, but it is very important. Because Touguoqihua writing process, not only can more clearly understand their plan is complete and thorough and at the same time looking to invest in shares or the provision of advice, it was more specific in content, if young people to apply for business loans, also be accompanied by the planning book.

So, run their own businesses, do not have both low investment, but also the concept of quick recovery. In the choice of the industry, we must first consider the industry’s competitive position, how much strength the number of things to do, do not breaks against.

How to Narrow Down Your Choices and Find the Perfect Women?s Apparel for You

Buying women’s apparel can range from women’s active wear to business suits to the intimate lingerie. There are thousands of different styles, prices, sizes and brands to choose from for each of the categories listed above. Not to mention the thousands of places to purchase the women’s apparel. So how do you select from the overwhelming amount of options.

The easiest way to do so is to narrow down your options. When you take a first glance, it can certainly be intimidating shopping for women’s apparel. Once you begin to narrow down what you are specifically looking for, it creates a realistic list of options.

The first part to the process is deciding on what kind of women’s apparel you are shopping for. If you want to get clothes to wear around the house or go work-out in, then you’ll want to look in stores that offer women’s active wear. The same goes for women’s business suits and women’s intimate lingerie. Obviously you don’t want to look for a business suit at Victoria Secret or an intimate nightgown at the Nike outlet.

]]>

The next phase is deciding on a price range. If you go into a store without setting a budget, you will find yourself spending way more than you had first anticipated. It can be easy to go into Victoria Secret or JC Penny’s and spend over a thousand dollars on a few items if you don’t prioritize and set a limit.

The easiest part of the process that will narrow down your selection the most is finding your size. Although brands and what type of women’s apparel you are searching for can vary in size, generally the size remains the same for all products. Then when you go to a store, it either has your size or it doesn’t. If it doesn’t, you can either wait for it to come in your size, go to a different store or select a different item.

Another phase that has made way just within the past couple of decades is internet shopping. With the internet continuously expanding and more stores opening up an online shopping website, it is becoming increasing popular to shop online. When you shop online, you have a much wider selection to choose from and an endless amount of stores to choose from. There are the downsides and risks of having the wrong item delivered, having to pay for shipping and having to wait for your item to be shipped. However, it opens the door to a much larger selection of women’s apparel than ever before.

With all this said, its now up to you to decide on what brand appeals to you most and what style you are looking for. Whether you want basketball or tennis women’s active wear is a decision to make. Do you want a black or brown or white women’s business suit? Are you looking for a comfortable nightgown or sexy women’s intimate lingerie? These are all questions you will have to ask yourself when shopping for women’s apparel, but the sky is the limit for what the retail stores have to offer you.

For a various selection of women’s apparel please visit the fastest growing online shopping mall MerchantLand.com. We offer top brand at reasonable prices. Satisfaction guaranteed.

From Woman With a Good Idea to Woman With a Thriving Home-based Business

According to the Center for Women’s Business Research, “There are 10.4 million women running successful businesses in the U.S. Of those 10.4 million, 85% of them are running businesses out of their home.”

Women starting up a business from home run the gamut from moms wanting to work while staying at home with their children, to women jumping the corporate ship, to midlife entrepreneurs investing in their future.

Behind every woman starting up a business from home, there is a good idea just waiting to fail. Yes, fail. Why? Because a good idea is not a great one, and being passionate about something is not enough to turn a good idea into a thriving home-based business.

With women-run, home-based businesses being one of the fastest growing sectors of small business start-ups, it’s important for women to make sure their good idea turns into a great one.

Top 5 Steps to Insure Your Business Success

1. Before you quit your day job, get to know the business side of things.

If you were a teacher interested in becoming a principal, you’d need to know what it would be like to be a school administrator. Right? Even if you already knew everything about being a teacher, you may not know about the business side of running a school.

The same thing is true when it comes to starting up a home-based business. You need to know what you’re getting into before you start.

2. Realize that your good idea is going to take a hit.

]]>

If you were a knight riding off to war, wouldn’t you want to know that your armor was strong? That it could withstand the rigors of battle? That it could bear up under the toughest of blows and the sharpest of blades?

Before you go out and spend tens of thousands of dollars on product development, find out how well your idea will hold up under scrutiny. Interview your target customers to confirm your assumptions about your product. The questions you ask now will give you invaluable information that will help turn your good idea into a great one.

3. Have a clear vision of where you want to go.

Before you head off down the start-up road, you’ll need a map. You’ll need to have a plan to get from here to there — a plan that supports your great idea and vision of success.

This is where a clear vision statement and business plan come in handy. Having a vision for the kinds of products and services you want to offer and what specific niche group will buy them is important. Knowing how much it will cost to start up and run your business for the first couple of years is helpful, too.

4. Realize that you are going to have to wait for profits.

As with any business start up, initially the money going out is going to exceed the money coming in. For how long? Well, certainly for at least your first year. Probably the next. Sometimes it takes up to five years. It all depends on one thing: how well you’ve done steps 1, 2, and 3.

Thriving home-based business owners know they have to do two things while waiting for profits to roll in: hold the vision for their business and take steps every day to make it happen. Because of this, they have a system in place to handle the level of success they see for their business. Without these things, chances are you’re going to quit long before you’ve had a chance to succeed.

5. The Fun Stuff

While you’re waiting for the big bucks to roll in, focus your marketing energy on social media tools. This will bring you into contact with many amazing people while creating an Internet presence for your business.

• Get yourself on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Squidoo.

• Have fun building your following on Twitter.

• Build a blog that represents your style and passion in business and connects with your niche market.

• Develop a powerful website that attracts your niche market, converts them into prospects, and creates long-lasting relationships.

• Say yes to any interview opportunity.

Starting up a home-based business is exciting. Armed with a great, well-tested idea and a map for success, you will be on your way. First, remember to do your homework. Take the time to understand where you want to go and determine how you will get there. Great ideas need vision, and great leaders are visionaries. Be one, and start your journey from good idea to thriving home-based business!

How to Become a Successful Women Entrepreneur

For today’s great competition in the business, we are not looking any gender anymore. Because men and women are both trying their best to commit their goals and achievements. Women proved already that whatever men can do they can do it also.

In this article I shared, it is one proof of evidence that as numbers of successful women entrepreneurs arises we have to share also some tips and ideas for some who want to succeed also but don’t know yet where to start it.

No one is an optimist all of the time and being overly optimistic at the wrong time can actually lead to making poor business decisions. A successful business woman often needs to be a team player – or serve as merely an inspiration – not always insisting on being in the lead. And, having an open mind is far more important than being a “creative” person.

Rather than answer a question about how well you work with people you should be asking just who are these “people” you are supposed to work well with?

For example, working with family members is a far different thing from working with unrelated employees, and almost everyone can get along with easy-going folks. So shouldn’t the question really be “can you work with difficult, annoying, and whiny folks?” Because these are the customers and employees you are most likely to hear from – the ones with concerns, complaints, and demands.

Other than important information mentioned above, here are more tips an ideas on how to make it possible.

1.Getting Started

Don’t worry about not being courageous enough for the uncertainty of the business world, as being an entrepreneur has nothing to do with courage. People who observe entrepreneurs leaving a secure job and taking the plunge into the unknown sometimes marvel at their courage (or foolhardiness).

Most successful entrepreneurs that I’ve met, however, don’t see themselves as particularly brave. In fact, they do a lot of homework and make contingency plans that take into account the possibility of failure.

2. Look for a big idea, and be rational.

There’s no point taking a big risk if you have a small idea, and from an economic perspective, it’s logical to concentrate on expected value, which means the potential value creation times the probability of actually achieving it. So if your job is 100% secure, and the chances of entrepreneurial success are only 10%, then compare your future salary against the expected future value of your venture (the ‘payoff’) times 10%.

If the expected value (payoff times 10%) is more than your salary, then logically you should give it a try. However, most people are irrationally risk averse, so if the expected value is not vastly higher than their salary, they would opt for the more certain outcome.

]]>

3. Think success.

To attain the kind of success that you want, you need to dream big. Every success story starts with big dreams. You need to have big dreams for yourself – which you want to be somebody rich, famous or fulfilled. You need to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve. But it doesn’t stop in dreaming alone. You should actively visualize success in your mind that you can almost feel it, touch it or it is within your reach. Play this image back at every opportunity. What does it feel to triple your current income? How will your life change? What will your business look like if you achieved the million-dollar mark?

4.Be passionate with what you do.

You start a business to change any or all part of your life. To attain this change, you need to develop or uncover an intense, personal passion to change the way things are and to live life to the fullest. Success comes easily if you love what you do. Why? Because we are more relentless in our pursuit of goals about things that we love. If you hate your job right now, do you think you will ever be successful at it? Not in a million years! You may plod along, even become competent at the tasks, but you will never be a great success at it. You will achieve peak performance and do what you have to do to succeed only if you are doing something that interests you or something that you care about. Entrepreneurs who succeed do not mind the fact that they are putting in 15 or 18 hours a day to their business because they absolutely love what they do. Success in business is all about patience and hard work, which can only be attained if you are passionate and crazy with your tasks and activities.

5.Plan accordingly.

You have a vision, and you have enough faith in yourself to believe that you can achieve your vision. But do you know how to get to your vision? To achieve your vision, you need to have concrete goals that will provide the stepping-stone towards your ultimate vision. Put your goals in writing; not doing so just makes them as intangible fantasies. You need to plan each day in such a way that your every action contributes to the attainment of your vision. Do you foresee yourself as the next Martha Stewart of hand-made home furnishings? Perhaps today, you need to see an artist to help you conceptualize the new line of hand-made linens that you hope to launch. Intense goal orientation is the characteristic of every successful entrepreneur. They have a vision, and they know how to get there. Your ability to set goals and make plans for your accomplishment is the skill required to succeed. Plan, plan and plan – because without which failure is guaranteed.

6.Constantly look for ways to network.

In business, you are judged by the company you keep – from your management team, board of directors, and strategic partners. Businesses always need assistance, more so small businesses. Maybe the lady you met in a trade association meeting can help you secure funding, or the gentleman at a conference can provide you with management advise. It is important to form alliances with people who can help you, and whom you can help in return. To succeed in business, you need to possess good networking skills and always be alert to opportunities to expand your contacts.

7.Self-Discipline in order to success.

Reaching a goal demands some element of discipline. For entrepreneurs, this factor is especially important. Starting and running a successful business takes time, planning and patience. An entrepreneur is ultimately responsible for the success of his business; therefore, he should expect to work, especially in the beginning, more than anyone else to ensure success.

8. Improvements of a certain business is a must.

Every year, thousands of new business and ideas surface. Successful entrepreneurs know how to set themselves apart from the competition. WiseTechnology.com uses Galileo’s invention of the telescope to illuminate how an individual must take existing technology and improve it. When Galileo invented his telescope, a Dutchman had already created one, which inspired him. Galileo created his own improved version and found greater success.

9. Discount Failure

People tend to find what they focus on. Successful business owners should focus on success and pretend that failure is not an option. In truth, even when a business does badly, it has only failed if the entrepreneur thinks it has.

10.Don’t Rely on Traditional Places for Financing

When it comes to acquiring financing to get your business up and running, big banks will probably be turned off at the prospect of lending money to a new venture that has no success guarantee. Instead, look into getting help from Women’s Business Centers or Community Development Financial Institutions. Not only are they interested in getting small businesses off the ground, but they also offer guidance to make sure you business is successful.
